How to warp our adjustable weaving frame?

You've been asking for some BTS of our adjustable frame for a while now. It’s truly our favorite weaving helper, and when warped correctly, it saves hours of work. Come warp this loom with me so you can weave something like a bookmark.
100 % our own unique design
This product is purely Lapena. You won't find it anywhere else, and it’s all thanks to Eli. When Eli and I started this weaving journey, we wanted to make some standard, "easy-to-sell" products that would make everyone happy. So, we started weaving coasters. But we quickly realized that it was a super long process. Once we calculated that one large coaster takes 5 hours to weave, we knew we needed a clever hack. So, we started looking for an alternative to standard weaving frames.
"We need something where you can adjust the size so we don't have to have a special frame for every single project. It should also be lightweight and ideally have some cool mechanism so we don't have to weave in all those ends".
I kind of laughed at Eli, told her to keep dreaming, and we went back to searching. Of course, we found nothing, but Eli couldn't stop thinking about it. Then one day, out of the blue, she pulled the first prototype out of her handbag.
What makes it so unique?
This frame has come a long way since that first prototype, but the idea remains the same:
you set it to the exact size you need,
assemble and disassemble it however you like,
it even fits in your handbag,
it’s 3D-printed with zero waste and made from bio-compostable material,
you just warp it and there is no weaving in the ends.
You can warp it like a classic frame in several ways, but the main advantage is that you simply slide the finished piece off the frame and only have to tuck in two warps.
At our workshops, your biggest fear is usually that you won't be able to warp it again on your own, so I’m leaving this guide here on how to warp the frame for a bookmark.
But first, let’s put it together:
How do I warp the frame?
Now for the actual warping. You can do it however you like, with wider or narrower spacing, but from the workshop, you already know my favorite trick: warping it so that you get a clean, identical line of warp threads at both the top and bottom.
And I know how it goes—you get home and suddenly it feels incredibly complicated, even though it was crystal clear during the workshop.
How did Gábi do it?
So, grab your frames and let’s warp another bookmark together:
Now just pick your colors and weave away!
Have you fallen for the magic of our adjustable frame yet? If not, come try it out at one of our workshops. Or you can just buy one right now. You already know how to warp it, so go ahead and start experimenting!
